Community Support

As a Bible-centred church we want to serve our community and make an active, positive and caring contribution to community life. We try to do this in several ways: the church employs a community worker, who spends time supporting some of the more vulnerable members of our village.

We run a weekly lunch club for seniors, with a regular ‘thought for the day’ and occasional trips out and about. At the other end of the age spectrum we run pre-school playgroups for mums and toddlers, a range of weekday children’s and young people’s groups and weekly Saturday football training for young people throughout the year.

We also facilitate an evening group for adults with learning disabilities called DM Indigo Club which runs twice a month. We are also developing a portfolio of short courses tackling life-issues that people might find helpful. For example, marriage courses, parenting courses, money-management courses and Christianity Explored courses.

All of these courses and activities are run by volunteers from within the church, supported by our staff team. In addition to these regular activities, we also run occasional community events such as holiday clubs, family fun days, quizzes, concerts and lunches.  We put them on because we want to demonstrate the love of Christ for this community.

For further details of courses and activities please fill in the online form or contact the Church Office.
