Danbury Mission - another extension!

TIMELINE

March 2009	Proposal to extend the church presented to Church Business Meeting with preliminary plans illustrating the concept. Agreed to pursue detailed plans and apply for planning permission. Site of the Old Mission Hall on Danbury Common put up for sale.
May 2009	Site of the Old Mission Hall sold for £290,000. Disussions being pursued with Architects on detailed plans for the extension.
October 2009	Difficulties identified with placement of supporting pillars for extended building. Following discussion with Structural Engineers, alternative designs and costings are being obtained for either the extension of existing roof, replacement of roof, or demolition and rebuild of front section of the building.
December 2009	Elders confirm appointment of new Architects.
January 2010	Revised design brief being prepared.
June 2010	Final plans of the design finalised and reported to Church Meeting on 01/07/10.
August 2010	Planning application submitted.
November 2010	Planning consent granted!
April-May 2011	6 Companies selected and invited to tender. Tenders returned. Contract awarded to Brooks & Wood.
June 2011	Demolition work commenced 20/06/11.
June 2012	Completion of works due 15/06/2012.
